Cloister

Although cloistering away was in immediate response to an untenable situation, there really were no other options at the time. Confrontation was useless and painful. It was important to recognize the greater good. Children should not be exposed to the seething rage which had developed. Pretending to act normal was getting old, incredibly old. What was the point anyway? Just a pretense for the kids. Best to hide away in the safe confines of the master bedroom.

Being holed up in one's own house was not particularly enjoyable. Feelings of resentment and frustration were overwhelming at times. Best to suck it up, push it down and await the inevitable change. It was bound to be resolved at some point. Patience was the key. Breathing deep; going for a run; calling a friend; all stop-gap measures to enduring the pain that was soon to end upon separation. Time to live life as one preferred and not in deference to another.
